Sarah Close

Hi. My name is Sarah. I am a 16 year old musician. I play guitar, piano, ukelele, i sing, and some drums on the side.

All links can be found above for my numerous pages. enjoy

I finished this just now- Monday 26th December 2am

All of my inspiration comes late at night. Over the past two weeks i’ve written about 9 songs, all at night-finishing off uncompleted tunes and starting new ones. This is my favourite. Definitely. Here are the lyrics… still rough and will be changed. This song will definitely be on the EP.

‘You’

Like a game of snakes and ladders

I’ve landed on the wrong square and it’s back to you

I’m going out with friends tonight

And I’m hoping, that I’ll accidently bump into you

You colour me in colours I didn’t know exist

You make me wanna give it all away

And when you’re gone I’m left playing it over

And when you speak I over think it all

You always play the same game

I’m sick of being nothing but loose change

chorus

But it’s always, always, always you.

Doesn’t matter what I do, I’ll always end up coming back to you

It’s only only you

And everything else I say is just a cover up, it’s always back to you

You give me more than anyone ever should

You proving the man in the gentleman

You spin stories like lullabies to my ears

Clutching at all that you know. To keep me here

Always the same turn of the clock

You come and make everything change

everything is just a comparison

I’m sick of all, regretting letting myself fall

You pull me back, but I want to fly

He calls back to the heaven in the sky

Close your eyes. You don’t want me.

Lie to me, say

I’m here with you tonight.

Tell me it will all be ok

Tell me it will all work out fine(good?)

final chorus.

Mini Explanation.

I watched Inception today for the first time and it completely mind fucked me. I guess the idea of Inception influences this song slightly. This song is about a multi parallel story of two people played out to be the perfect match for one single person, one is ‘trickery’, i.e. teenage love-they believe the other person to be flawless, another is what she should want/is offered. The middle 8 is a haunted image of a ‘war’ (so to speak) between the two characters who want the other one, one is luring the one person, one is holding the other back knowing what will happen, the one is letting themselves hurt for a short term of happiness. It’s complicated. It’s deep. I will explain it in more detail at a later date.
